Our Experts Our Doctor
Our trained and qualified AyurVedic doctor will offer consultation and counselling advice on health, wellbeing, lifestyles, diets and the appropriate use of AyurVedic therapies and herbal products. The doctor will prescribe requisite therapy for each client after consultation and diagnosis from the 37 forms of therapies that are available at the Lotus AyurVeda Spa. The doctor will also assist in the actual preparation of the medicinal oils and herbs for use in therapy, as well as supervise the therapists during the therapy sessions. He will also conduct Yoga and Meditation classes. In effect, the doctor will be instrumental in guiding the patient on to the road to recovery, rejuvenation and a whole new way of life.

Dr. Steephan is from the state of Kerala, in southern peninsula of India. Kerala is a much sought after destination for AyurVedic therapies, treatment and medicine. A qualified AyurVedic Doctor and Yoga Teacher with a degree in AyurVedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from the University of Calicut in Kerala, Dr. Stephan trained in conventional medicine with Dr. M.George, MBBS, MD (Chief Physician, Holy Cross Hospital, Nagercoil) at the Holy Cross Multi Speciality Hospital, Nagercoil, South India.

Dr. Steephan started a special wing for AyurVeda and Yoga at Holy Cross Hospital, Nagercoil and worked there for six years as chief consultant in AyurVeda and Yoga. At Holy Cross Hospital he specialised in the therapies for Wellbeing, Chronic Orthopaedic and Neurological ailments using AyurVeda, Yoga and Meditation.

The hospital, under his direction, also attended to clients with Sciatica, Osteoarthritis, Panic Attacks, Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Repetitive Strain Injuries, chronic diabetic ulcers.

Dr. Stephan has also received a Diploma in Yoga teaching from Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Ashram in Kerala. He has been practicing and teaching AyurVeda, Yoga and Meditation for the past nine years in India and abroad.

The second doctor with the team is Dr. Majosh Jolly also from Kerala state in Southern India.
His Mission statement is "to spread the ethics of AyurVeda and to explore myself and realise my full potential."

He obtained his AyurVedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) from at Rajiv Ghandi University of Health Science, Bangalore. His experience working as a medical officer at AyurVeda Retreat Hospital, Coonoor in South India dealing with an international clientele.

His internship has given him experience in outpatient and inpatient consultation. He is fully conversant with all the modern and allopathic system of medicine. He is able to combine the modern systems with AyurVeda medicine to give the best advice to our clients. He also has extensive experience conducting Yoga and Meditation classes.
